US court charges two men with $22 million NFT fraud
According to DL News, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged Gabriel Hay and Gavin Mayo with defrauding investors out of $22 million through a fraudulent NFT project. The media said, “This is the largest NFT fraud case ever prosecuted in the United States. Hay and Mayo are accused of raising funds by falsely claiming that Vault of Gems and Faceless were the first NFT projects to be linked to real-world assets, then halting the projects and privately using the funds. If convicted, the two could face up to 60 years in prison.” the media reported.
