Trump, Melania Trump should be fired for recommending the launch of memecoin, Coinbase's former CTO hate memecoin.

Ryan Selkis, co-founder of crypto data analytics firm Messari, said in an X-post, “US President-elect Donald Trump should fire the person who encouraged Melania Trump to launch her meme coin today. They don't know what they are doing, and they have wasted the money and goodwill of their supporters. (The memecoin issuers) are not thinking about the interests of Trump or his supporters.”

Meanwhile, Balaji Srinivasan, former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Coinbase, said in X that “Mimecoin is a zero-sum lottery. In the memecoin sector, no value is created, and all buy orders are matched with sell orders. Also, after the initial surge, the price eventually plummets, and the last buyer loses everything. “If the trading platform takes a commission, the wealth actually created is rather negative.”
