Suspected North Korean entity infiltrates 25 crypto projects with personnel
According to Cointelegraph, blockchain security expert ZachXBT has revealed that “an Asian entity believed to be operating out of North Korea has dispatched 21 developers to more than 25 cryptocurrency projects and is paying them between $300,000 and $500,000 per month.” His own tracing through various leaks showed that the entity and its associated addresses were linked to U.S. Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned individuals. “The developers referred each other through recruiters,” he says. But when suspicions were raised, the developers covered their tracks by deleting their GitHubs.”
