Solana's memecoin 'CHILLGUY' reaches an agreement with the character copyright holder... IP contract signed.
'Just a CHILLGUY' (CHILLGUY, hereinafter referred to as CHILLGUY) has concluded a dispute with the character copyright holder. Chillguy is a memecoin based on Solana (SOL) that was released on the 15th of last month. It is based on the character of the same name, which became popular as a character who maintained a calm attitude even in unusual situations on social networking services (SNS) such as TikTok.
Chillguy became popular after skyrocketing more than 7,000% from its starting price of $0.0073 in just 10 days after its launch, but it fell on the 21st after Philip Banks, the copyright holder of the character, announced legal action.
On the 13th, Coinpedia, a digital asset (virtual asset) media outlet, reported that “the Chilguy memecoin team and Banks, the original creator, have reached an agreement.” In an Instagram post on the same day, Banks said, “After a long discussion with the Chilguy team, we have decided to provide licenses and intellectual property (IP) rights.”
According to data from CoinGecko, a digital asset market data site, Chilgai was trading at $0.3082 at 4:13 p.m. on the same day, down 3.9% in the past hour and 16.4% in the past day. Coinpedia said, “The license agreement is positive for the Chilgai team, but the current market performance is still worrying.”
