Otherworld, the digital collectible social platform, launches beta with Solo Leveling: Unlimited (SL:U), the popular webtoon with 14 billion views.
Otherworld operates on top of Avalance, Layer 1 of the Web3 social protocol, which combines Web3 benefits such as digital asset ownership with traditional social media features. The Singapore-based company aims to leverage major entertainment IP rights to build a content universe through decentralized webtoons, K-POP, and more, collaborating with creators and content companies to deliver unique experiences.
The mega-hit webtoon, SL:U Close beta, which is being released on the platform, is expected to attract a large number of users with its innovative system and narrative, reflecting its mesmerizing world and compelling storyline. Powered by the Avalanche technology stack, the game features gasless NFT trading and blockchain, and the user experience is designed for non-cryptocurrency users.
SL:U is designed to mirror the original story, where characters level up and grow by defeating monsters inside the gate, and users can loot monster NFT cards through the gate. These monster cards can be leveled up just like in the original story, and users with high-level monster cards will be rewarded with various rewards through the CE2 platform, a concept that links collection and rewards.
In addition, SL:U will operate on a seasonal basis, with community competitions and various fun elements constantly updated, and users with high scores in each season will be rewarded with a limited edition Sungjinwoo Shadow Lord PFP.
Otherworld has exclusive Web3 rights to 26 popular webtoon IPs from Kakao Page, including Solo Leveling and Second Life Ranker, and is also working with Cube Entertainment to leverage K-pop artist IPs.
