Mt. Gox Cold Wallet Completes External Transfer of All BTC Holdings
According to Arkham data, the address labeled Mt Gox Cold Wallet (1JbezDVd9VsK9o1Ga9UqLydeuEvhKLAPs6) has moved all of the bitcoin held by the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange to a new address. The last transfer was about 30 minutes ago, when he sent $8.98 worth of BTC to a specific address (starting with 1AsHPP7). The address moved about 14.16 million BTC (about $9.64 billion) from the cold wallet to the new address today for the first time since May 2018. Previously, former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpeles stated that “today's transfer from Mt. Gox is an internal wallet-to-wallet transfer in preparation for a creditor payoff,” and that Mt. Gox “has not sold any of its cryptocurrency holdings to date.”
