March centralized exchange spot and futures volumes hit $9.1 trillion...highest in nearly three years
"Spot and derivatives trading on all centralized exchanges (CEXs) last month more than doubled from the previous month (February) to $9.1 trillion, the most since May 2021," Bloomberg reported, citing a CC Data report. Binance, the world's largest exchange, saw $1.12 trillion in spot and $2.91 trillion in derivatives trading last month, the highest since May 2021, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) saw a record $155 billion in trading volume. "BTC's new all-time high in March drove a significant increase in exchange trading volume," the report said. Binance recorded the highest market share gain among CEXs last month, with its market share now standing at 38%."
