South Korean brokerage firm Mirae Asset Securities suspends trading in bitcoin futures ETFs.
According to an exclusive report by South Korean news channel Newsis, Mirae Asset Securities has suspended trading in bitcoin futures exchange traded funds (ETFs) that have been listed overseas since 2021. The previous day, the financial regulator stated that it may be a legal violation for domestic securities firms to broker bitcoin spot ETFs, and even temporarily suspended existing futures ETFs. "It may violate the existing government stance on virtual assets and the Capital Market Act for domestic securities firms to broker overseas-listed bitcoin spot ETFs," the Financial Services Commission said.
