French prosecutors “accuse Telegram CEO of 12 crimes” afterFrench government website is defaced
Pavel Durov, the founder and current CEO of Telegram, is suspected of committing 12 crimes, French prosecutors have said, according to Benzinga. These include facilitating illegal transactions, unauthorized provision of crypto services, drug offenses and money laundering, and fraud. Earlier, French police arrested him at the airport and extended his detention to 28 days.
According to Cointelegraph, crypto news aggregator Entropia Intel announced via its official channels that “two hours ago, several French government websites, including the French Ministry of Health, the Paris Administrative Court, and the Bankruptcy Court, were shut down due to a DDoS attack. The attack is believed to be in response to the arrest of Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov by French authorities and may be linked to a Russian hacker group.”
