ETH spot ETF issuers have yet to receive feedback on SEC filings
“The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has reportedly yet to provide feedback on the securities registration statements (S-1s) filed by Ethereum (ETH) spot ETF issuers,” cryptocurrency media outlet The Block reported on May 11, citing two sources familiar with the matter. “A number of ETF issuers are still waiting for feedback from the SEC after filing draft S-1s on May 31st (local time),” the source said. Issuers initially expected to receive the SEC's feedback by June 7, but at least two issuers said they have yet to hear anything. One of the sources said they expected to hear back this week."
Meanwhile, SEC Commissioner Gary Gensler previously said that “the next step in the ETH spot ETF review process is likely to take some time.” Last month, the SEC approved a Rule 19b-4 request for review of trading rule changes submitted by stock exchanges that would list ETH spot ETFs. Both 19b-4 and S-1 approvals are required for an ETH spot ETF to list and begin trading on a U.S. stock exchange.
