ETH Spot ETF Approval Nears Finalization, BlackRock Files Listing Filing for ETH Spot ETF
"Ethereum (ETH) spot ETF issuers and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are addressing issues with each amendment and are close to finalizing (approval)," Bitwise Chief Compliance Officer Katherine Dowling told Bloomberg. "While it is good to see the SEC engaging with new crypto products, it will take time for other crypto spot ETFs without futures markets to come to market," he added, referring to VanEck's application for approval of the Solana (SOL) spot ETF. Meanwhile, Bitwise filed an amendment to its S-1 registration statement for an ETH spot ETF on April 4.
Meanwhile, BlackRock, one of the world's largest asset managers and issuers of BTC spot ETFs, filed a registration statement (8-A12B) for an ETH spot ETF with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 9th (local time). BlackRock had previously filed an amendment to its S-1 registration statement (S-1) for the ETH spot ETF with the SEC on June 22nd. The 8-A12B filing is said to be a potential approval of the spot ETF.
