Crypto 'Fear-Greed Index' at 80...extreme greed persists , 3.4 Billion Worth of BTC Options Expire Today
Crypto data provider Alternative's self-estimated “Fear-Greed Index” fell eight points from the previous day to 80. While sentiment deteriorated slightly, the extreme greed phase persists. The index is a measure of extreme fear in the market, with readings closer to zero indicating extreme fear, and readings closer to 100 indicating extreme optimism. The Fear Greed Index is calculated based on volatility (25%), trading volume (25%), social media mentions (15%), surveys (15%), Bitcoin market capitalization (10%), and Google searches (10%).
Meanwhile, according to crypto options exchange Deribit, $3.38 billion worth of Bitcoin options will expire at 17:00 UTC on November 15th. The put/call ratio is 0.84 and the max pain (the price at which the most option buyers lose premium) is $79,500. At the same time, $5.8 billion worth of Ethereum options expire. The put/call ratio is 0.93 and the max pain price is $3,000.
