Consensys CEO "intends to file additional lawsuits with the US SEC"
Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum (ETH) and CEO of Ethereum infrastructure developer Consensys, told Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett that he plans to file a lawsuit against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the US state of Texas on behalf of the cryptocurrency industry. "The closure of the SEC's investigation into Ethereum after 14 months is welcome, but not satisfactory. There needs to be a way to properly regulate the market, rather than trap investigations. We are hopeful that U.S. regulators will move beyond their hostility toward cryptocurrencies and improve their investor protection strategies." Previously, the SEC notified Consensys that it was closing its investigation into Ethereum 2.0. Consensys is currently engaged in litigation with the SEC over its notification to WellsNorth that its MetaMask product violated securities laws.
