Bloomberg “ASX to approve BTC spot ETF within year”
“The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), which handles about 80% of Australia's stock trading, is expected to approve the launch of the country's first bitcoin spot ETF within the year,” Bloomberg reports, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. “ETF issuers including VanEck Australia and BetaShares Holdings have applied to launch bitcoin spot ETFs in Australia,” Bloomberg continued. The recent surge in applications to the Australian regulator follows the success of a bitcoin spot ETF launched in January in the U.S., which has attracted about $53 billion in inflows.” Justin Arzadon, Head of Digital Assets at BetaShares, added: “The success of the Bitcoin Spot ETF in the US proves that there is real demand for digital assets. BetaShares has reserved a ticker on the ASX for the launch of Bitcoin and Ethereum (ETH) spot ETFs.”
