Announcing Enhancements to Binance's Token Listing Process and Data Leakage Monitoring
"Following the announcement of RONIN's (RON) plans to list on Binance, the price of the coin dropped, raising suspicions within the community that the listing may have been leaked in advance," said Binance co-founder He Yi via X (formerly Twitter). After conducting internal and external investigations into the allegations based on on-chain records, Binance has decided to make some process adjustments based on our current listing policy." He listed the following
- Strengthen internal enforcement of team members involved in the listing process, including business, research, pre-IC, IC, development, operations and announcements. We will take measures such as first warning, second dismissal, etc. for leaking information related to the projects they are responsible for, regardless of the reason.
- If the listing information is leaked or the circumstances of the leak are discovered after the announcement, the listing of the project will be canceled and suspended. The monitoring process for external partners such as Talkonomics, Custody, communication with investors and research materials will also be strengthened.
- Increased technical monitoring to address the possibility of code (script) leaks to trade pairs and announcements. While Binance encrypts code changes, there are times when messages about LaunchPool are leaked by the community who spot changes. Please feel free to report such issues to me on my personal Telegram account if you see them.
- Due to Binance's internal policy of separating the research and business sides of token listings, there is no direct contact information for listings, which has led to widespread scams impersonating the Binance team. The only way to apply for a listing is through the official website.
- We offer substantial rewards for reporting corrupt behavior, including leaking token listing information in advance. The identity of the whistleblower will be kept confidential and the reward will range from $10,000 to $5 million.
- If an individual is found to have joined another project or fund after being terminated for corrupt behavior, the project or fund will be permanently blacklisted from Binance. Blacklisted projects are permanently banned from listing on Binance. To ensure this, every investment firm and large fund will be subject to our internal investigation before making an offer on Binance.
- We will strive to build a fair, transparent and efficient platform. We will actively accept user feedback and suggestions.
