Bitcoin spot ETF trading volume of $5.5 billion, $2.4 billion accounted for by BlackRock alone, will they launch an Ethereum ETF?
As Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas reports via his X, "Trading volume across 10 bitcoin ETFs totaled about $5.5 billion. That's the second-largest on record. BlackRock IBIT alone saw $2.4 billion in volume, bringing its assets under management to more than $11 billion." "Last week's surge in bitcoin ETF trading volume appears to be the new normal, not an anomaly," he said.
Meanwhile, BlackRock has added a bitcoin ETF to the list of investments in its BlackRock Strategic Income Opportunities fund (ticker: BSIIX), according to WatchGuru. "The fund may invest in BTC and BTC ETFs, including BTC ETP products," according to BlackRock's latest BSIIX prospectus filed with the SEC.
There's also news that gives BlackRock pause. "The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has again delayed its review of BlackRock's proposed Ethereum (ETH) spot ETF," Unfolded X reports. The SEC previously delayed its review of the ETF in January. Earlier in the day, the SEC also delayed Fidelity's ETH spot ETF.
