Bitcoin Market Capitalization Projected at $1.5 Trillion, Microstrategy BTC Holdings Over $11 Billion

"The market capitalization of bitcoin could eventually reach a quarter of the market value of numismatic gold," Jurrien Timmer, head of global macro at Fidelity, a large U.S. asset manager, told X. "The market capitalization of bitcoin could eventually reach a quarter of the market value of numismatic gold. Given that the numismatic gold market is currently worth about $6 trillion, this means that bitcoin's market capitalization could reach $1.5 trillion. Currently, BTC's market capitalization is about $1.215 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap. Meanwhile, CNBC reports that MicroStrategy has surpassed the $11 billion mark in the value of its BTC holdings amid the price spike. MicroStrategy currently owns 193,000 BTC. As a result, MicroStrategy's stock price rose 16% on the 26th (local time) and 10% on the 27th, closing at $871.80 on the 27th.
