50% chance of ETH spot ETF approval by May
"There is a 50% chance that an Ethereum (ETH) spot ETF will be approved in May," Ryan Rasmussen, research analyst at crypto asset manager Bitwise, told Yahoo Finance. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has until May 23 (local time) to decide whether to approve VanEck's application for an ETH spot ETF. "If other crypto spot ETFs besides bitcoin are launched, they will rise in price like BTC. There are many events in the market besides spot ETFs, such as BTC halving, ETH Dencun upgrade, NFT trading volume growth, and Solana price rise. In particular, BTC is in a cycle that could reach at least $88,000 by the end of 2024," he added. Meanwhile, decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket gives the ETH spot ETF a 41% chance of approval in May.
